Joe Shenton III
Seagull Sports Network
I worked at the Seagull Sports Network for 2 years, starting in February of 2021 and finishing in May of 2023. During that time, I worked as a Commentator and Camera Operator under Will Deboer and Cyrill Parham.
As a commentator, I commentated on games as the action happened, and to be best prepared for those upcoming games, I researched the athletes that were on the teams and their stats. Depending on if I was a color commentator or on play by play, I would research the stats for either the visiting team or the Seagulls. I commentated on sports such as Baseball, M&W Soccer, M&W Swimming, M&W Basketball, and Softball. I have also commentated on big playoff games for Baseball, including the 2022 and 2023 C2C championship, regional and super regional series. I have always loved baseball growing up, so it's easy for me to say that commentating on Baseball and softball were my specialties.
As a Camera Operator, I filmed the action on the field as the games happened. Depending on the sport, I would either work as the general camera operator, taking in all of the action that happens on the field, or I would work the tight camera, where I would follow the ball as close as I possibly could following the action up close. The tight camera would be the video feed you would normally see in replays. I worked the camera for sports such as Football, M&W Soccer, M&W Lacrosse, Baseball, M&W Basketball, Field hockey, Softball and M&W Swimming. My camera operation specialty was the tight camera for M&W Lacrosse. The more I worked on as the tight camera operator for Lacrosse, the better I got.
Fulton School of Liberal Arts
I worked for the music department in the Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury University from January 2023 to December 2023 under Suzanna Mallow as an AV Technician.
As an AV Technician, I helped set up and breakdown the live sound and camera set ups for every performance at SU. During the performances, I either operated the camera for the performances, or I was mixing FOH sound.
